Vapor Emission Monitoring
Whether Aromatics, Vinylchloride or other toxic volatile compounds are present in the
soil is often only important in a risk assessment if these compounds actually
migrate to the surface and are emitted to where people live and work.
Flux chambers are frequently used. Here
a double wall chamber (see description of previous picture) used indoors to
determine vapour flux rates through cracks in the concrete floor.
